Here are some of Ned's pieces of wonderful redware for All Seasons.
Ned and Gwen Foltz have a wonderful 1840's former one-room schoolhouse shop in Pennsylvania that they use to make some very collectible pieces of Foltz Pottery redware.
Ned grew up in Lancaster County, graduated from the Philadelphia College of Art and began teaching art. While teaching in a local high school for 18 years, he taught himself how to make redware using the 200 year old traditions and techniques of the early German settlers. He first dug and mixed his own clay to produce small pieces and tiles. His work has grown to very limited, hand-turned and sculpted, stenciled, and painted pieces. Modern lead-free glaze is used in order that pieces can be safely used with food.
All of these hand made redware pieces are signed by Ned.
