In 1972, Lynn Daly and daughter, Elaine Roesle, began making reproduction German and French dolls along with china doll heads. Selling these hand made pieces evolved from sales at a local craft show to a true cottage industry from Lynn's old farmhouse and Elaine's home. In 1978, interest increased to the point where St. Nicholas figures and traditional Santas were designed and in 1986, the "St. Nicholas Collection" was born. 1990 began the new line of antique looking figures called "Snow Children". They are vintage style children clad in white cotton flecked with downy snow. Four generations now design, mold, fire, paint and dress their St. Nicholas and Snow Children characters from their Ohio studio. In 2004, Early American Life chose them for the Top 100 Artisans in their Christmas issue Directory of Traditional American Craftsmen.
